The areas I can assist with include:

• Designing new lubricant test methods both for early product screening and for marketing demonstration.
• Providing effective interfaces between chemistry, engineering and marketing:
  • collaborating with OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers.

• Facilitating and harnessing relevant sources of academic science and engineering expertise.
• Developing proposals for submission to the DTI Technology Programme.

After an early career in the chemicals and materials industries I have had 20 years experience of Research and Technology in BP/Castrol's market driven lubricants business. My experience has ranged from leading research in lubricant chemistry through to managing engineering teams to create new lubricant tests for both product development and marketing support.

I have developed a wide ranging network of academic and industrial contacts through my technical work, professional memberships of the IMechE and RSC, and publishing (editing Chemistry & Technology of Lubricants and editorial board membership of Part J of IMechE Proceedings).
